Permission Sets
This article guides you through creating, customizing, and assigning Permission Sets to control user access within your fundraising account.
Customize user access by creating tailored Permission Sets that go beyond the default Standard and Admin levels. This allows you to define exactly what each user can view, edit, or manage within your fundraising account.

Custom Permission Set Use Cases
- Limited Access for Data Entry Roles: Create a permission set that allows users to view and edit Action Pages but restricts access to financial data or billing agreements. Ideal for team members responsible for updating campaign content without needing backend financial access.
- Finance-Only Access: Build a set that gives users permission to view, export, and manage transactions and commitments, while hiding features related to donor relationships or page editing. This is useful for accountants or bookkeepers who need reporting access only.
- Consultant or Vendor Access: Grant third-party contractors access to only the tools they need—such as Action Page creation or Billing Agreement setup—while keeping the rest of your account secure. Their permissions can be scaled back or removed entirely once their work is finished.
- Fundraising Manager Role: Create a set that enables full access to Action Pages and donor relationships, but restricts billing, banking, and user management tools. This gives fundraising managers the access they need without exposing sensitive administrative controls.
- Team-Based Access Control: Assign different permission sets to teams based on their function (e.g., Marketing, Development, Finance) to ensure each group has the right level of access for their responsibilities—no more, no less.
