Organization Information & Account Ownership
This article covers how to manage organizational details in Anedot, including assigning contact roles and securely transferring account ownership to a qualified individual.

Organization Information Overview
This information is collected during the initial application process and includes the legal and financial identity of the account.

Updates to this section (e.g., name, legal entity, EIN) must be made by Anedot Staff.

To request changes, please contact Support.
Assigning Points of Contact
You can assign specific users as points of contact for different areas of your organization:

Donor Support
-
Marketing & Communications
-
Finance & Accounting
To manage points of contact:

Go to Settings > Setup > Organization Info

Choose the appropriate user for each contact type from the dropdown

Click Save
If someone isn’t listed, invite them first under Settings > Access > Users. Once added, they’ll be available to assign as a contact.
Changing the Account Owner
The Account Owner is the person with legal and financial authority over the fundraising account. This individual is financially responsible and must have access to the organization’s bank account.
Who Can Be an Account Owner?
Typical roles include:

President
-
CEO / CFO
-
Executive Director
-
Chairperson
-
Treasurer
-
Candidate
How to Transfer Account Ownership
To initiate a transfer:

Go to Settings > Setup > Organization Info

Click the blue “Change Owner” button

Confirm the prompt: "Yes, I need to choose or invite the new Account Owner"

Select an existing user from the dropdown or invite a new one

Click Request Ownership Transfer
The new owner will receive an email with a Confirm Ownership form. Once submitted:

Their status will be updated to Owner under Settings > Access > Users > Permission Sets

The previous Owner’s role will be downgraded automatically
If you send the request to the wrong person, simply send a new one—this will cancel and expire the previous email.
