Donor Statements
Learn how to generate and send Donor Statements in Anedot, including customization, download options, included donation data, and eligibility requirements.
At the close of each calendar year, organizations can provide Year-End Giving Statements to their supporters through Anedot. These Donor Statements summarize each donor’s giving activity recorded within the platform.

Donor Statement Content
Donor Statements will include donations processed and recorded within Anedot, including Cash, Check, Inkind, and Offline Card records.
Only transactions tied to a donor’s personal email address or phone number will appear in the statement.
Important: Transactions submitted without an email or phone number—or using a placeholder like noemail@
or null@
—will not be included in the statement. To include these donations, you’ll need to create and distribute a custom statement outside of Anedot.
Each statement includes:

Your Organization’s Public Email and Phone Number

Giving Summary

Itemized Donation Records
Additional Notes:

If the donor covered processing fees, the total amount will include those fees.

For 501(c)(3) organizations, a Tax Deductible column is displayed. It will match the total unless a product was received.

For non-501(c)(3) organizations, this column is omitted.
Customize Donor Statements
To personalize your statements:

Go to Settings > Finance > Donor Statements in your account.

Customize the following:
-
Display Name
-
Reply-To Email
-
Subject Line
-
Message Body
-
Disclaimer Language
-

Click Save Settings when complete.
You won’t be able to preview an example Donor Statement until after the statements have been sent.
Send Donor Statements
To send statements to donors who provided an email address:

Click the Send Donor Statements button at the bottom right of the Donor Statements tab.

A confirmation popup will appear. Click Yes, send donor statements to proceed or Cancel to abort.

Statements will begin sending at 5:00 AM CST the following day.
For donors who only provided a phone number, statements will not be emailed. You’ll need to download and send them manually.
A "View Statements" link in the email will allow donors to download their PDF statement.
Important: Donor Statements can only be sent once per calendar year. This action cannot be undone.
Download Donor Statements
After statements are sent:

Go to Relationships > Donor Statements in your account.

To search for a donor’s statement:

Click the Filter icon.

Enter Email (optional), Phone (optional - 10 digits with no formatting), and Year (required).

Click Apply Filters and then close the menu.

To download, hover over the donor’s Email column and click Download to get a PDF copy.
Generate a New Statement
To create a new individual statement:

Go to Relationships > Donor Statements

Click the New Statement button
-
Enter:
-
Email or Phone Number (at least one required)
- Phone numbers must be entered as 10 digits with no symbols (e.g., 2252501301).

Year (required)
-

Submit the request
Warnings:
-
If a statement for the specified donor and year already exists, a new one won’t be created.

If the input isn’t tied to any donations, a blank statement will be generated.

Duplicate statements can accidentally be generated for phone-only records—double-check before submitting.
